About This Tour
The Huchuy Qosqo Trek is a stunning one-day hike offering panoramic views of the Sacred Valley, Andean peaks, and ancient Inca ruins. This moderate trek takes you through rolling hills, a scenic canyon, and high-altitude landscapes, culminating at the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological site. The journey begins with a hotel pickup at 7:00 AM, followed by a 1 to 1.5-hour drive to the trailhead. To make your trek as comfortable as possible, we provide a porter to assist with carrying water and box lunches, allowing you to focus on the journey and take in the stunning views. The first section of the hike (2 hours) is a gentle, undulating path, with spectacular views of snow-capped mountains. You will then pass through a narrow canyon, adding a touch of adventure before reaching the Inca site. After reaching the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological site, we’ll pause for a well-deserved lunch at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Sacred Valley. Your guide will provide a detailed explanation of the sites history and significance, as you explore its impressive terraces, ceremonial areas, and ancient structures. The trek concludes with a 2-hour descent to Lamay, where our private transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Itinerary
Guide will meet at your Hotel at 7:00 AM
Drive to Trailhead – 1 hour drive to start of hike. Total length of hike 10-12 km (6-7.5 miles).
Hike for 3.5 Hours – Enjoy spectacular Sacred Valley and mountain views and pass through a narrow canyon.
Arrive at Huchuy Qosqo – Enjoy a provided box lunch overlooking the Sacred Valley. Afterwards your guide will go over the history, architecture, and significance of the Inca Site.
2-Hour Descent to Lamay – Scenic downhill trek.
Drive back to Cusco – Arrive by late afternoon.

The Huchuy Qosqo Trek covers approximately 10-12 kilometers (6-7.5 miles) and ascends to an altitude of around 3,900 meters (12,795 feet) before descending into the Sacred Valley. The hike provides incredible panoramic views, a diverse landscape, and a visit to one of the lesser-known yet historically significant Inca sites.
