Embark on a 4-day immersive journey through Peru’s most breathtaking historical and cultural landmarks. This package offers an unforgettable exploration of Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and the legendary Machu Picchu. Your adventure begins in Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. On this day, you’ll dive into the rich history and culture of the city with a guided tour of its iconic landmarks. Visit the bustling San Pedro Market, where you’ll experience the vibrant atmosphere of local Peruvian life, offering everything from fresh produce to handcrafted goods. No visit to Cusco would be complete without seeing the Cusco Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece blending Spanish colonial and Inca styles. Then, explore the Qorikancha, the Temple of the Sun, which was one of the most important and elaborate temples in the Inca Empire. Finally, indulge in a traditional dinner of Pollo a la Brasa before taking in the cultural performances at the Centro Qosqo de Arte Nativo, which showcases the traditions and music of the region. Start your SECOND day by visiting Sacsayhuamán, an awe-inspiring Inca fortress located on a hilltop overlooking Cusco. The massive stone walls and terraces showcase the incredible engineering and architectural skills of the Incas. After exploring Sacsayhuamán, you’ll head towards the Sacred Valley, a region filled with historical significance and natural beauty. On the way, make a stop at the Cochawasi Animal Sanctuary, where you’ll get up close with Andean wildlife such as llamas, alpacas, and condors. Later, arrive at Cuyo Chico, visiting a family-run authentic cultural experience. Here, you’ll enjoy a traditional lunch and participate in a hands-on demonstration of mud brick and ceramic making, connecting with the ancient techniques of local craftsmanship. You’ll spend the night in cozy, rustic rooms, with dinner and breakfast provided, giving you a chance to rest and immerse yourself in the peaceful surroundings. The THIRD morning, continue your journey with a visit to the Pisaq Archaeological Site, perched high above the Sacred Valley. Known for its terraced agricultural fields and stunning Inca structures, this site offers breathtaking views and a deeper understanding of Inca agriculture and military defense. After Pisaq, enjoy a leisurely lunch in Urubamba before continuing to the charming town of Ollantaytambo, famous for its Inca ruins and narrow cobbled streets. You’ll hike the ruins of Ollantaytambo, an impressive site known for its steep terraces and intricate stonework, offering panoramic views of the Sacred Valley. Afterward, enjoy a delicious dinner in Ollantaytambo before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Wake up early on the FORTH day for the grand finale of your journey—an early morning visit to Machu Picchu, the ancient Incan citadel and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. With your guide, you’ll explore the awe-inspiring ruins, learning about their purpose and the fascinating history of the Inca civilization. After immersing yourself in the magical atmosphere of Machu Picchu, you’ll head back down to Aguas Calientes for lunch before returning to Cusco.
