About This Tour
Discover the breathtaking beauty and rich history of the Sacred Valley of the Incas on this immersive tour. Your adventure begins with a hotel pickup by your guide and driver. The first stop is the Cochawasi Animal Sanctuary, a rescue center dedicated to rehabilitating native Andean wildlife. Here, you’ll have the rare opportunity to get up close to majestic condors, pumas, and vicuñas. Next, explore the ancient Pisaq Archaeological Site, one of the most impressive Inca sites in the Sacred Valley. Known for its expansive terraces and stunning views, the site also houses one of the largest Inca cemeteries. We'll explore the upper part of the ruins, where you'll learn about the history and significance of this ancient location. Next, we’ll head to the charming town of Pisaq, where you can wander through the narrow, cobblestone streets. Here, we’ll visit a colonial oven and you’ll have time to explore the local market before we make our way to the main square. Following a delicious lunch in Urubamba, continue your journey to Yanawara, where we’ll stop for a unique cultural experience — sampling Chicha, a traditional Andean drink made from fermented corn. The day culminates at Ollantaytambo, known as the "City of the Living Inca." Here, you’ll ascend the ancient terraces of this impressive fortress, with impressive temples and breathtaking views of the valley below. Afterwards we’ll gather for dinner with your tour guide and check into the overnight accommodations, where you’ll rest for the exciting day ahead. The next morning, your guide will pick you up at 8:00 AM, and we’ll begin our adventure with a hike up Pinkuylluna Mountain. This challenging yet rewarding hike will lead us to the ancient Inca granaries (Colqas), where you'll enjoy panoramic views of Ollantaytambo and the surrounding valley. After the hike, we’ll head to the Maras Salt Mines, a stunning series of terraced salt pans that have been in use since Inca times. The sight of thousands of small pools filled with evaporating salt is a truly unique experience. From there, we’ll visit Moray, an ancient agricultural site with circular terraces believed to have been used for agricultural experimentation by the Incas. Finally, as we make our way back to Cusco, we’ll stop in Chinchero, a small village known for its traditional weaving and textiles. Here, you’ll learn about ancient Andean weaving techniques and witness the vibrant process of creating textiles dyed with natural materials. What is Included in the Tour?
